Reducing the carbon footprint starts with material purchasing.

Reducing the carbon footprint starts with material purchasing.

In the course of the European Green Deal, the call for environmentally friendly alternatives and closed-loop systems is also becoming louder and louder in the area of technical compounds. More and more companies are therefore already using recyclates when purchasing materials in order to reduce their carbon footprint and thus meet the requirements of the market. High-quality recyclates that can be used technically are in greater demand than ever before. They make a valuable and, above all, verifiable contribution to significantly reducing the ecological footprint.

"The account never lies" - an accounting insight that applies all the more to today's CO2 accounts of companies. In order to make a positive contribution to this special type of account - namely by reducing its balance or bringing it to zero - recyclates are an option whose sustainable performance can be proven in black and white. Both technically and ecologically. LEHVOSS is the material developer for this:

With recyclates that ensure a reduction of up to over 90 percent CO2 per kilo of material compared with virgin material. This makes a significant contribution to achieving the "CO2 neutrality target agreement".

With materials such as LUVOTECH eco, which target the upper half of the materials pyramid. This is where it ends for many competitors in terms of product range and where it is just beginning for LEHVOSS.

With customized recycled compounds that deliver consistent properties and specifications and are 100 percent usable for technical applications.

Recyclates can reduce the ecological footprint in material purchasing by up to 90 percent.

With maximum transparency: This manifests itself

a) in the certificates issued (which we already enclose with the offers) on the basis of the GaBi Professional software and using the DIN EN ISO 14040/14044/14067 standards and

b) in the basic invitation to all partners to take a look at the path of recyclate production - "from the cradle to the factory gate" - at our plant in Solingen.

Speaking of which: both our plant in Solingen and our plant as well as our corporate headquarters in Hamburg obtain 100% green electricity in accordance with the certification of TÜV SÜD. Here, too, we convince with facts instead of greenwashing.

With closed-loop concepts for large volumes to meet special requirements for specific applications (for example, with regard to higher impact strength, tribological modification or heat or UV stabilization). Such a closed-loop system covers the entire process of collecting, sorting, processing and reusing plastic waste. This includes, for example, production rejects or sprues. We are not talking about post-consumer recyclates (PCR) such as PET bottles.

With "mold flow data": We are the only company to provide our partners with rheological data - better known as mold flow data - of the recyclates. These can be used for simulations - such as for mold filling or component warpage. This creates a realistic image of the injection molding process.

The recycling systems ensure the ecological and technological performance of the recyclates.

With an offer in terms of recyclables management especially for injection molding companies: Profit to a high degree from our plastic waste disposal by selling us your production waste! In this way, you reduce your disposal costs and make an important contribution to the circular economy. We do not "just" dispose of the plastic recyclables but recycle them and feed them back into the production process. This reduces the need for new raw materials and protects the environment. Our waste management therefore saves you costs and exerts a positive influence on your sustainability efforts.

With a clear strategy for the benefit of our partners in the various industries: We summarize our experience and approaches for the further development of sustainable thermoplastic compounds and polymers under the term Eco Compounding Experience (ecX). Under the umbrella of our ecX strategy:

  • we develop materials with improved environmental properties - without compromising on technical properties,
  • we reduce the use of raw materials and
  • increase the energy efficiency of production processes.

With a clear view to the future: We are monitoring developments in the field of chemical recycling very closely in order to be able to offer our partners high-quality solutions as soon as significant quantities are available.

Bottom line: LEHVOSS elevates recyclates to a new level of performance that borders on virgin.

We are highly convinced of the performance of our recyclates and we invite all partners: Let's talk about how you can lay the foundation for a demonstrably highly effective contribution to sustainability and thus to reducing your ecological footprint/carbon footprint on the basis of closed-loop systems or recyclates right from the material purchasing stage. Without any greenwashing - and gladly with the residual or recyclable materials that we buy from you.
